MrBeast follows in the footsteps of PewDiePie as the second YouTuber that hit 100 Million Subscribers.
There you go, Jimmy! Jimmy Donaldson, a.k.a. MrBeast, just broke through 100 million subscribers and is the second person to ever do so. I mean, yeah, there are other channels with that many followers, but most of the time those are corporate channels like freakin' T-Series.
In celebration of this massive achievement, we present to you 5 of the best MrBeast moments on his path to reaching 100 million. Btw, it was not an easy task to find his best moments, as good'ol Jimmy made a living out of crazy challenges, like "I spent 50 Hours in Solitary Confinement", or "Last To Leave The Circle Wins $500,000".
These 5 moments though are what I would consider milestones in his career and some of his greatest and craziest achievements I will remember for the years to come. This is not a top 5 btw, as everybody has their own opinion, just five moments I consider iconic and legendary to say the least.
Squid Game
Let's start with his Squid Game video. It's his most popular video, probably because of the hype the show received when it released. Due to the nature of MrBeast's hardcore challenges, I was somewhat expecting it to be just as lethal as it was in the show. Well, even though I was a little disappointed that didn't happen, it still encapsulates the spirit of MrBeast's videos quite well. Hardcore challenges with high stakes. I mean, the winner could win a whopping $456,000. Even the show's creator approved of it
Subscribe to PewDiePie
During the legendary battle of T-Series vs. PewDiePie, MrBeast was one of PewDiePie's mightiest generals. He put up multiple videos, showing his support for the fellow YouTuber. Even though he obviously profits from this, it was still received kindly by fans. Probably because he really did help PewDiePie gain a lot of subscribers. Jimmy has a lot of videos, giving away money and just being a nice guy. Due to this, his support of PewDiePie seems genuine. I mean, why else would someone torture himself by saying PewDiePie 100,000 times?
It took him nearly 12 hours! Look at him! He looks miserable!
Team Trees/Team Seas
We already saw what a good guy Jimmy was when he supported PewDiePie in his battle against T-Series. But Jimmy's battle against global warming was way more intense! #TeamTrees was supposed to raise enough money to plant 20 million trees before 2020. It managed to raise $20 million in just two months! Just so you know, $1 plants a tree. He managed to reach the goal he wanted to reach in a year in two months! Talk about overachieving.
With how easily he achieved his goal for #TeamTrees, he set his ambitions for #TeamSeas even higher. Now, his goal was to raise $30 million. Do I even need to say... he reached this goal too! With those two projects, he planted more than 20 million trees and removed more than 30 million pounds of trash from the ocean.
I Spent 50 Hours Buried Alive
From good guy Jimmy to mad guy Jimmy, we have a moment that just shows how much this dude is willing to suffer for his videos. In this challenge, he went on and got buried in the ground for 50 hours. He went full Dracula with a coffin and all, probably smelled like a dead guy afterwards as well. I know this moment is not as impactful as planting 20 million trees, but I mean, you gotta give it to the guy, he pulls some crazy shit for his videos. Those crazy challenges are what made him famous, and I think being buried alive for 50 hours just for a video on YouTube is pretty dang mad and kinda entertaining.
I Put A 100 Million Orbiz In My Friend's Backyard
And another crazy fun video and one of his classics. He posted this video back in 2018 when he was not nearly as big as he is now. I kinda had to include it as the amount of Orbiz is the same number of subs he has reached to reach his milestone that made me write this article in the first place.
Those kinds of crazy and fun pranks were typical for early MrBeast. Just lots of harmless fun on a massive scale that just seemed absurd. Jimmy would be that guy from a math problem that buys 99 watermelons just to launch them across a football field or eat them in 24 hours.
MrBeast really is always up to some crazy shit. He really deserves 100 million subs. He has done a lot of good, he has done a lot of stupid stuff, but I wouldn't say he has ever done anyone any harm. Furthermore, he genuinely seems like a decent guy, so enjoy your success Jimmy and I hope you're up to more crazy challenges I would never dream of trying.
