Why My PC Gets Turned On Everytime I Change Pants

If you think nobody wants to see you naked, you might be wrong. Well, at least, if you have the same naughty computer this guy has, because his computer turns on every time he changes clothes. What the hell is going on here?

So here is a story I didn't think I'd write before AI gets more advanced and develops a consciousness. I mean, like full on consciousness. I'm talking about Replicants in Blade Runner level sh*t.

PC Gets Turned On By Changing Clothes

But I'm getting sidetracked. You're probably wondering what the hell I'm even talking about. So there's this dude on Reddit whose computer turns on every time he changes his clothes/gets undressed. This poor guy has his Gaming-PC, watch him change! Think I'm lying?

Why does my PC wake from sleep when I change my clothes in the room? static? from pcmasterrace

This is pretty creepy. On the other hand, this PC has probably seen far worse than him just changing his clothes (opens private browser tab and unzips pants).

In the comments under the Reddit thread, users were trying to solve the issue, telling their own stories of weird and hard to explain technical malfunctions, oh and obviously making fun of the situation.

One of my favorites was:

When you are changing, you get naked. So it gets turned on.

This shitalmost made me spit out my coffee laughing. Imagine how a hot-tub streamer's PC would feel.

So What's The Problem?

Turns out, it was the keyboard. I'm not going to go too deep into the technical details, cause that shit's complicated. In short, it's the static.

Btw. have you ever wondered what that strange knob on your Computer cable is for?

The Keyboard is built in a certain way, so that the static that builds up when he gets undressed gets registered as a key being pressed.

Guess this dude didn't really switch off his pc, so the fake keystroke activated the PC.

So what do we learn from this? If you're not using your PC, turn it off. Or just get a different keyboard.
