Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 just released and the animal rights organization PETA seems to approve of the movie's overall message regarding Rocket Racoon's story.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 just hit theaters and seems to be widely regarded as one of the best Marvel releases in recent history. One source of approval we didn't expect, though, was the animal rights organization PETA, which reportedly called it “the best animal rights film of the year.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: So Good, Even PETA Approves
Marvel has been in the steady decline ever since the Infinity War concluded, with more and more releases that simply got worse. Now James Gunn seems to have finally solved that problem, right before he will make his move to DC.

Honestly, the success of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 gets us more hyped for the future of DC now that James Gunn has taken over than for whatever Marvel has cooking.
A big factor that made the recent Marvel release so good, was its drastic shift in tone. Instead of the now all too familiar light-hearted comedy, we get a great character drama focussing on Rocket Racoon's past.
That's honestly by far the best part of this movie, and it looks like PETA agrees. Rocket's storyline explores his past as a test subject of the High Evolutionary and the excruciating experiments he was put through.
PETA apparently really appreciate how the movie helps “audiences see animals as individuals, and suggesting that just because we can experiment on them doesn’t mean we should.”

It is a welcome change to see PETA happy for once, but on the other hand, PETA gets a lot of backlash in the comments. It's not necessarily about their take on the movie, but just a general disklike for the organization that permeates the internet.
One comment sums it up perfectly, with a meme saying: "Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point".
DC and Marvel really are just switching their cast:
