Quentin Tarantino only has one movie left, and now just oddly mentioned a Rambo remake he would cast with Adam Driver. Is Quentin Tarantino seriously considering a remake of Rambo First Blood?
Maybe we're making something out of nothing here, but let's start with the official quote before we dive into theories:
If I just wanted to make a good movie, that I knew would be good, I would take David Morrell's novel for First blood and do the novel. Not the movie that was made out of First Blood. I would do the novel, and Kurt Russell would play the sheriff and (Adam Driver) would play Rambo.
That's what the man himself said in an interview with MovieWeb. Now... I know what you're thinking: He said 'if I wanted to', not that he does want to, but... why would you just casually bring up Rambo and already have a cast in mind? There is something to this, I can feel it in my tinglies. Let's not forget that we also have the ever-persisting rumors about Tarantino doing an R-Rated Star Trek movie that's not part of his ten movie plan.
Will Tarantino Remake Rambo First Blood?
I mean... why not? Here's what I'm thinking:
I'm thinking: Tarantino isn't actually gonna stop after movie number ten. I'm thinking: Tarantino has Star Trek and Rambo First Blood on the back burner. I'm thinking: A Tarantino Rambo is gonna happen – if only because I need it to.
If you are not familiar with the Rambo novel, then let me just tell you: It's great. Tarantino himself says that the dialogue in the novel is amazing and would lend itself perfectly to a movie. Now... we all know that Quentin does love his dialogues, and he does love himself some violence and as I'm writing all of this: Why could a Rambo remake not be his tenth and last movie? It would make so much sense stylistically, and it wouldn't even be a remake, since it'd be based on the novel. It would be a new take on a great book from 1972.
Do it, Quentin. Imagine all the naked feet in forests. You're made for this.
