Justice decides everything, in this case the charges are dropped for 'Rick and Morty' Co-Creator Justin Roiland.
Justin Roiland, co-creator of the popular TV show Rick & Morty, had domestic violence charges against him dropped by the Orange County District Attorney's office due to insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The charges, which included felony counts of domestic battery with corporal injury and false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit, were filed in May 2020 and became public in January 2023.
His parts in Rick & Morty were set to be recast for the seventh season, and it is unclear if or when he will return to his other roles.
Roiland had been awaiting trial and faced up to seven years in prison and large fines if found guilty. Roiland, who had been dismissed from most of his gigs over the charges, had also been subjected to a protective order to stay away from the alleged victim.
