Snakedoctors originate from Gdansk in Poland, but make some pretty extraordinary music. Can you guess what we did? We asked them about video games, of course!
Snakedoctors formed in Gdansk, Poland, in May of 2020. Since then they have released sixteen singles (including a Christmas special and a song in Czech under the name Jiri Blaha & Framuga Boys), and three albums: "Obligation", "Joy Free Bowl" and "Mellow Joy". They're an Indie Band who release their music on indie label Case Studio.
Throughout their career, all of their singles have charted in Poland iTunes Rock Top 100 (many of them even reached number one!), one of the indie radio charts in the UK (including three number ones - "A Song", "Tinder Girl" and "Crime Story") and other radio charts in the US, Columbia, Ecuador and Peru.
Their biggest hit single so far, "Close That Door", has been at number one for over 30 weeks at Raga Top Radio Olsztyn, and topped the Radio Ostrowiec Top 20 in Poland. Another one, "Got Him Another Girl", reached number one on the radio airplay chart for Central America. Their singles also reached US radio indie charts and Spotify charts in Los Angeles (Local Pulse).
Their music has been played around the world in many countries across four continents. They have received an award for "Album of the Week" in Poland and have picked up a "Band and Station Song of the Week" accolade in the UK. Reviews of their singles and albums have been published across Poland, the USA, the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Portugal, Brazil, France, Canada, Serbia and Egypt.
Their fourth double album, "Four and a half", will be out this spring and will feature many diverse musical styles. The band has managed to cooperate with many well known producers. These not only include regulars from Abbey Road Studios and Metropolis Studios, but also new additions to the team, including people who have worked with artists like Depeche Mode, Yazoo, The Cure, The Mission, The Kinks, Jane’s Addiction or David Bowie. There are also artists from the US and Ukraine featured on the album, as well as videos that have been filmed in Germany, Ukraine, and Poland.
