Since its release in 2018, Solo Leveling is to date one of the most successful manhwa. Fans of the series can now look forward to even more adventures in the two new upcoming adaptations of our favorite hunter: Sung Jinwoo
Solo leveling has been on everyone's minds for a long time, pretty much being the first name to be mentioned when it comes to manwha or webtoons. Sung Jinwoo's action-packed adventures captivated many readers, and a large community has formed around it. However, there is a particular anticipation when thinking about the anime adaptation that is going to come soon. But hear me out, we are in for a special treat: and it is called Solo Leveling ARISE, a game adaptation of the well known story.
Solo Leveling: A Glimpse At The Story
The manwha (which is the Korean counterpart to a manga) is about Sung Jinwoo, a special hunter in a world where people have to fight dangerous monsters. After an incident, he gained access to a system that helped him become more powerful. Once nicknamed The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind, he now has the abilities to level up and turn the dead into his Shadow Soldiers. From then on, he fights both monsters and humans to discover the secrets of the dungeons and the true source of his powers.
- Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? Check out the first volume of the manwha and get deeper into the story to prepare for upcoming game adventures.
Release Date And Key Data
First the bad news, there is no set release date for the game adaptation yet. But the good news is, a quick glance at the official website tells us, that the game is still to be published in 2023! Lucked out on this one …
The game itself seems to fit into the action RPG category, with some quick hack-and-slash combo mechanics. A high energy game with a really nice and clean look to it. Not missing out on flashy and colorful animations as well!
There will be 4 playable main characters for you to choose:
- Sung Jin-woo, of course …
- Cha Hae-in
- Baek Yoonho
- Lim Tae-Gyu
The game will be available for PC and mobile phones and is already playable in Korea as a beta version. Unfortunately, you need a Korean phone number to log into the game as of now. As the year continues, it will be released globally.
Game Trailer
Finally, the really exciting part: the game trailer! To this day, there are two bigger trailers released on the official Solo Leveling: ARISE YouTube channel. Let's take a look at the first one, shall we?
The trailer looks already more than promising, to me at least.
Solo Leveling: The Anime Adaptation
More of an anime type of person? Don't worry, we got you covered on this on as well. You can expect to encounter the first episodes of the anime at the beginning of 2024, and the realization also seems to be promising. The studio that will be responsible for the adaptation is A-1 Pictures, which is the same studio that animated Sword Art Online and Kaguya-sama: Love is War. So be prepared for something excellent looking next year! — And no, I am not talking about Sung Jinwoo himself!
