Sykkuno is leaving Twitch after getting a fabulous deal with YouTube. Other streamers are sad. Very sad.
Sykkuno is leaving Twitch behind mere days after rumors started circulating about the streamer's potential departure. A number of offers were made over the last few months, but it seems like Twitch's bid for the massive streamer was not particularly good, prompting him to take up YouTube's offer and move onto the platform.
Sykunno boasts more than four million Twitch followers, so it will be an effort to try and get all of those people to cross over to YouTube. The Twitch star has also revealed more about why he decided to leave the platform, and it seems that things weren't particularly positive...
To be fair to Twitch, though, it does seem like Sykkuno's final "nail in the coffin" gripe was a little bit childish. Sure, they misspelled his name, but is that really a good reason to turn down a fantastic offer? Honestly, these people just earn far too much money...
Sykkuno Justifies Leaving Twitch and Joining YouTube
Sykkuno has taken to a YouTube video to explain the decision, explaining how his relationship with Twitch deteriorated and stood no match to YouTube's offers. He explained that whilst Twitch did lowball him at first, they eventually gave him a darn-good offer that was hard to turn down.
I was shocked. Everyone thinks that they have this reputation for giving a garbage offer. And they did give me one, until they upgraded it to a much better one...
Sykkuno then went on to express that he quite likely was being played by the streaming giant, who may have been scared about more potential high-profile departures, after Ludwig left a little while ago. He said that whilst he "was almost ready to go 'they cared'", it became apparent that they lacked respect in an email where they misspelled his name.
This was an official email I got from Twitch, and when I got it I had to email so many people asking if this was a phishing scam... I’m supposed to be the 28th highest earning creator on the platform, the 45th most followed of all time on the platform, and they called me Sukkuno. In an official email...
He did admit, though, to this being a bit of a ridiculous reaction. I mean, if you get offered a whole lot of money, and they don't spell your name right? You know, they literally hit the letter "u" on the keyboard... which is right next to "Y" on a keyboard...? That seems a little crazy, come on, bro, seriously...
I mean maybe I have too big an ego or something, but I was shocked. I legit thought I was getting scammed. I was afraid to click this email.... I don’t know if I’m taking it too much, but they couldn’t even spell my name right.
Also, it does seem a little egotistical to go on about how darn successful you are, come on, give us a break. It's fine to make the decision to leave Twitch and go to YouTube because they were offering something better, but to complain about this particular aspect of the whole thing? Take a chill pill, bro...
