Well, comic book movies are just way too popular... The Batman is already one of the highest-grossing films since Covid-19 started.
We all love a good Batman movie, don't we? Yes, we do. The last one released in the summer of 2008 – that's a staggering 14 years ago now. Let that sink in. So, it would be an understatement that we were overdue for another fantastic movie including the bat, one of the most famous superheroes of all time.
And oh boy, Matt Reeves' The Batman delivered big time. We loved it – check out our review —, everybody else loved it as well, and the movies' popularity is obviously also reflected by its box office numbers. Well, they're pretty big, to say the least.
The Batman Tops Box Office Charts
Let's not waste more time, here are some numbers: Regarding global box office, The Batman has already earned a whopping $505.8 million, which makes it the fourth highest-grossing film since the pandemic started. Remember that the movie released on March 3, 2022... that's like only a couple of weeks ago. Pretty impressive stuff.
But it gets even better. In some market, like China for example, the movie has yet to open. That half a billion dollars we just mentioned is just going to grow bigger and bigger. It's unlikely to reach Bruce Wayne's net worth, though, which is about 80 billion dollars. I know that for a fact because I just googled it.
Domestically, The Batman ranks second place during the pandemic era, just behind – you guessed it – Spider-Man: No Way Home. It's fair to say that box office has been dominated by comic book movies recently. The Batman is a fantastic movie and already one of the most successful films since the pandemic.
