Pedro Pascal has utter confidence in his portrayal of Joel and the upcoming The Last of Us series. Here's what he had to say about the show.
It's good to have lead actors believe in their product. The other day, Oscar Isaac promised that his upcoming Moon Knight TV series will be the best Marvel character-piece since Iron Man, and now Pedro Pascal has high praise for his upcoming The Last of Us series. Keep in mind that Pedro Pascal is The Mandalorian, and also starred in Game of Thrones, so he definitely knows something about quality TV.
Pedro Pascal Thinks Series Will Live Up to The Last of Us Game
I think the cinematic adaptation can more than live up to the original game. I have absolutely no doubts that we won’t disappoint fans of the game or new viewers alike.
He promised as much in an interview with the German magazine. If you didn't know, the TV-adaption will cover the entire first game throughout Season 1, which is promising, because too often game adaptions fail due to time restraints. With the show taking an entire season to tell the story of the first game, we can at least be sure that they won't have to cut content: Season 1 will run for 10 episodes.
In fact, a previous movie version of The Last of Us was scrapped, due to being too action-focused. The TV series, meanwhile, will be much more drama-focused, and shot like an indie, rather than focusing on the action. I don't know about you, but that's music to my ears, and the more I hear about this series, the more excited I am.
