If you’ve been following the Dota 2 Battle Pass in 2020, you probably know that the biggest contributor to The International 10 prize pool is no other than a certain Saudi Arabian prince.
The Saudi Prince Making It Rain
The Dota 2 2020 Battle Pass was one of the longest ones we’ve had and arguably the most successful one so far. It all started on May 25 and came to an end on September 19 after Valve extended the duration. With 25% of all Battle Pass sales going directly into The International 10 prize pool, another record was set. TI10 will have an insane amount of $40,018,195, but sadly, the event was postponed due to the global pandemic.
Nevertheless, this amount would’ve never been gathered without Dota 2’s passionate community and its willingness to support the game. Out of all the players that purchased a Battle Pass this year, one stood above all. One that invested nearly $45,000 and reached level 107666. That’s of course the Saudi Arabian prince Abdullah bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
A Popular Royal Figure
Over the years, the prince has acquired a somewhat legendary status within the community. He even made a thread on Reddit to thank Valve for the 2020 Battle Pass. You certainly don’t see that kind of thread every day.

It’s not all just throwing money at the annual Battle Pass, though – the prince plays quite a lot of Dota 2 on a daily basis. He is sitting at a Legend V rank which is not bad at all. If you check his most recent games on Dotabuff,it looks like Diretide is almost as popular as ranked matches.
