In a timeline where Donald Trump became the President, it honestly wouldn't have been far fetched to envision Dwayne Johnson as the President of the United States. In fact, The Rock for President was all the hype for years, and The Rock hasn't done much to shut down those rumors - until now. On CBS Sunday Mornings, Dwayne Johnson finally announced that he has no plans to run for President.

The Rock Will Not Run for President

I will say this, because it requires the B-side to this. I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. Especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters' lives. Because I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years for my first daughter's growing up, [at] this critical age at this critical time in her life. And that's what the presidency will do. So my No. 1 priority is my daughters. Sure, CEO sounds great, but the No. 1 thing I want to be is daddy. That's it.

If you didn't know just how serious the whole 'The Rock running for President' thing was, then get this: In a poll, 46% of respondents said that they would vote for The Rock, should he make run for the White House, and in 2021, PEOPLE magazine named Dwayne Johnson the No. 1 Reason to Love America.

So, ultimately, The Rock chose family over ambition, which is an honorable thing to do. The thing that baffles me about this, though, is this: The Rock is doing so many movies and is involved in a ridiculous amount of projects: He obviously has Black Adam coming up, but he's also the lead in HBO's Ballers, and he regularly hosts TV events, and he runs his own Tequila company and energy drink, and god knows what else he's got going on. I honestly do believe, if Dwayne Johnson dropped all of that to run the country... he might just be working less....
