Russian athlete Vitalina Batsarashkina won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics while wearing a Witcher medallion as a lucky charm. It is not the first time the russian superfan and athlete was showing off Witcher gear in public.
Finally, after it was postponed due to COVID, the Tokyo Olympics are underway. It should be no surprise for anyone that those young athletes are also fans of normal things like movies or video games. However, one athlete in particular caught our attention: Vitalina Batsarashkina The Witcher superfan.

Isn't Russia banned from the Olympics? How can Vitalina compete?
Yes, Russia received a two-year ban from the World Anti-Doping Agency for its state-sponsored doping program. Between December 17, 2020, and December 17, 2022, no athlete is allowed to represent Russia at the Olympics, Paralympics or World Championships. But well Russia just said: "Ok, we won't compete as Russia but as ROC." So Vitalina is part of the ROC (the Russian Olympic Commitee), which consist of only Russian athletes, who are technically not representing Russia (wink).
What do you think, should more athletes show off their favorite games or movies at sports events?
