Zack Snyder Wants to Direct a Dragon Ball Z Movie
In a recent interview, one of the most popular Hollywood directors of our time, Zack Snyder, was asked about directing a Dragon Ball Z film in the future, to which he simply replied: "I would consider that".
Snyder then proceeded to display his love for anime and animation as a whole, proclaiming that working on a similar project is very much within his realm of interest.
I would do an anime remake or live-action. That would be fun because I love animation, and I watch a ton of anime with my kid who’s too young to watch it but we watch anyway.
The fact that Zack Snyder apparently is a fan of the genre would definitely get him credit points with the DBZ fandom. He's not the worst choice for a potential reboot, though there are a couple of stumbling blocks.

These days, the director is working almost exclusively with Netflix, and we can't see a scenario where they decide to randomly acquire the rights for a feature length Dragon Ball Z film. The other major obstacle is Dragonball Evolution, which still looms over any Hollywood attempt at recreating the DBZ universe.
