What was the Jochen Schweizer SimRacing Casting Challenge 4 all about?
Presenter and professional racing driver Martin Tomczyk welcomed the finalists at the Jochen Schweizer Arena, or more precisely at the high ropes course located there. Fabian Wilems, Managing Director of Corporate Event Solutions, explained the importance of team skills and development. Wilems and his team prepared several challenges for this purpose. In the high ropes climbing garden, the SimRacers had to pass a course blindfolded. The team members had to direct their colleagues and guide them over the obstacles. The jury paid close attention to who took the lead and exuded confidence.
In the next task, "gold theft," the team's coordination was put to the test. "Teamwork and clear agreements" was what Wilems called for. The solution of the task was not the focus of the jury at all; separate attention was paid to planning under time pressure, process optimization and how the team works together towards a goal.
Trust and communication were also at the forefront in the last task of the high ropes course, in which the candidates had to bring balls attached to ropes to their destination. The participants solved all the challenges with flying colors.
Then it was back to the arena, where the participants had to prevent an imaginary spaceship crash in a VR world. Here, too, the primary focus was on communication and teamwork. This test was the last of the fourth challenge. Now it was up to the jury to put together the final team.
