ESL unveiled the details around the upcoming 11th season of ESL Pro League. The league will get a complete revamp with the entire format moving in a different direction. The most damaging revelation, though, was that the number of teams would be cut in half – from 48 to 24, leaving many organizations out in the cold.

What will happen in ESL Pro League Season 11

As mentioned, the teams participating in the new season got trimmed down to 24. As a whole, the changes made seem to move in a more dynamic direction, making every game all the more exciting.

The regular season will no longer be played online, but move to an in-studio offline format with the Grand Finals themselves to remain as a separate three-day LAN event. The regular season will take four weeks to complete and will include four round-robin groups of six teams with the winners advancing to the final stages of the playoffs. The second and third placed squads will enter the playoffs at an earlier point.

When the competition is left with six teams standing, it will move into an arena for the Grand Finals. As per ESL traditions, the final game will be played in a Best-of-5 format.
