OG.Seed decided to part ways and Cloud9 failed in their Dota 2 endeavor. Now a mix of players from both formed 5men, a stack for the upcoming Omega League.
OG.Seed was a team that outperformed fan expectations as they managed to compete at the top and in one instance even defeat OG. Despite that, the team was buried as Valve ruled out more than one team per organization. OG gave their academy team a full month of support so they can find a new place, but ultimately the team disbanded. Many speculated that it won’t be long until the ex-members of OG.Seed find a new team and they were right.
In the meantime, Cloud9 made an attempt to return to the Dota 2 scene but failed spectacularly as the squad only lasted for a few months. It consisted of five experienced players who previously played for C9 but the synergy and success were missing. Cloud9 left competitive Dota 2 once again in late April.

At the end of last week, members from both OG.Seed and the last Cloud9 team gathered to form a stack (5men) for the Omega League. Qualifiers for the latter are currently running and the main event itself is set to kick off in the middle of August. Here are the five members of 5men:
- Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard
- Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin
- Andreas Per “Xibbe” Ragnemalm
- Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen
- Johan “pieliedie” Åström
Ace, MISERY and pieliedie last played for C9, while Chessie and Xibbe left OG.Seed over a month ago. The team is all Scandinavian with three parts Sweden and two parts Norway. The squad managed to make it to the closed qualifiers of Omega League and are currently in the lead after a victory over TEMPO. The top two teams from the closed qualifiers will earn a spot in the Immortal division where some of the best teams await. The bottom two will get eliminated while anyone caught in-between will be seeded into the secondary Divine division of Omega League.
The competition in the closed qualifiers is high with participants like Vikin.gg, Team Empire, HellRaisers, and others. Whether 5men will make it through remains to be seen, but judging by the amount of experience each of the players has it shouldn’t be a problem. Their next series is scheduled for August 5 when they'll be playing against B8 or MOTACI. Note that 5men haven’t been signed by an organization yet and if they manage to find success in the Omega League someone might take interest in the stack.
