FaZe Clan imposed their will on the first weekend of play in the regular season of BLAST Premier Spring Series, thus advancing to the Finals. They won all of their Group A matches in comfortable fashion and generally looked like the team they were touted to be last year.

FaZe Clan back on track at BLAST Premier Spring Series

FaZe were matched up against Ninjas in Pyjamas in their Group A opener. This match was historic as it was the first time NiP suited up for a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive clash without Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg on their roster.

The Ninjas didn't fare well without their legend and only managed 15 rounds combined vs. FaZe on Overpass and Mirage. If it's any consolation for NiP fans, they were far from being the only ones to suffer that fate.

Made in Brazil were eliminated first after defeats at the hands of Team Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas. It might have been a blessing in disguise for Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and company because they avoided the freight train that was FaZe. Something Liquid wish they could have done.

The Americans first got in the way of FaZe in the 1-0 matchup, which they lost badly. Then, after a victory over NiP, they were once again up against the Clan. And lost badly.

There was just no stopping Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and co. on the weekend and if there form persists into the year, FaZe fans are up for an exciting year.

What is at stake in the regular season of BLAST Premier

FaZe Clan and Team Liquid both qualify for the BLAST Premier Spring Series Finals as the top two teams in their group while Ninjas in Pyjamas and Made in Brazil will take part in the BLAST Premier Spring Series Showdown. The same rules will apply for the other two groups, bringing each event down to six teams competing.

The Showdown will take place on June 2-7 and holds a $325,000 prize pool. The Finals are on June 16-21 with a whopping $750,000 to be shared across the six teams.
