After 8 consecutive losses, Schalke has finally had their first win of the spring split - and against Fnatic, no less. Yet this victory was absolutely deserving.

Fnatic had finally shaken off their losing streak after a Friday win against SK Gaming and while fans were still not entirely happy, the team was coming in as a big favorite in its game against Schalke. The German organization has had another bad start of the season with eight consecutive losses and was secure in its last place.

However, on the field it would be Fnatic that would start the game shaky. Their support Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov was caught out early for first blood, and while the veterans got an early kill in a bot-lane tower dive, Hylli was once again caught under tower and gave a kill back. As the game continued, Fnatic remained slightly behind in gold, but the early drakes they secured allowed them to eventually threaten a soul buff.

Fnatic’s jungler Oskar "Selfmade" Boderek was caught in the enemy jungle 23 minutes in. Even after he died, Fnatic came to fight but only lost two more, which gave Schalke a clean baron. With it, the German team took over the map and extended their lead. Fnatic were rattled and made several mistakes. Eventually, a catch on their mid laner Tim "Nemesis" Lipovšek kicked off the final fight. Schalke split their opponents for a decisive 4:0 fight and ende the game.

The Royal Blue team has had decent games before, but this was the first time they had an all-around good execution and won a deserving victory. At the same time,it cannot be denied that Fnatic did not seem on point today. While the early advantage for Schalke could be blamed on Hylissang misplaying, all too many players on the Fnatic team seemed not to be on point.
