EA Sports have unleashed the major midseason database upgrade and it comes with well over a hundred new faces and many upgrades on players already in the game.
Winter Refresh adds 130 new players to FIFA 20 Ultimate Team
The Winter Refresh update comes with a ton of new players – 130 to be exact. A surprising amount of them are pretty viable names that have been absent from the game in the beginning of the season for one reason or another.
Such examples are Manchester United’s emerging left-back Brandon Williams, West Bromwich’s reliable veteran Gareth Barry, Tottenham backup keeper Michel Vorm, former Juventus and current Augsburg defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, Fiorentina’s summer star signing Franck Ribéry, and Napoli’s towering striker Fernando Llorente.
The second major feature of the Winter Refresh are the upgrades to Skill Moves and Weak Foot stats of a large number of players. The list is quite long, but some of the more notable names to get their technical stats boosted are Liverpool’s No. 9 Roberto Firmino, current Ajax and future Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech, Arsenal’s great hope Gabriel Martinelli, and RB Leipzig’s midfield dynamo Christopher Nkunku.
Finally, EA have selected 50 players whom are to receive a general upgrade. The players were selected based on their overall growth, which needs to be +3 or higher. Among those select few to receive this desirable makeup are Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Håland, Inter Milan’s Martínez and Monaco’s Islam Slimani.
The changes Winter Refresh brings to FIFA will become active later today, February 14, with the exception of the new players, which will be implemented next week, between February 16-22.
