EA Sports surprises in EA Sports FC 24 with some heavy pace downgrades. We show you players who are significantly slower in EA FC 24 than in FIFA 23.
We are currently receiving daily updates about ratings in EA Sports FC 24, the new FIFA 24. We already know most of the top 100 players. However, this list also includes players who suddenly lost a lot of pace compared to FIFA 23.
It's not new when EA suddenly slows down players who are 30 years old or older. But with other players, these downgrades can't be justified by age – EA simply made scouting mistakes.
If you've ever wondered how a FIFA rating is determined, we have the perfect article for you:
EA FC 24: Significant Pace Downgrades In The New FIFA
When looking at the values of some leaked cards, you might think: Ouch, the player must have lost a leg, because these pace downgrades can't be explained otherwise. Some of the players on our list were also injured for a while, like Christopher Nkunku, for example. But the lightning-fast Frenchman was still able to bring his speed onto the field. We don't really understand, why Nkunku gets such a drastic downgrade.
It makes sense that Cristiano Ronaldo or Thomas Müller lose some speed due to their age. You simply aren't as quick and agile as in your younger years, and Müller never relied on his pace anyway. However, for EA FC 24 Ultimate Team, these players become unattractive quite quickly.
EA FC 24: The Most Extreme Pace Downgrades
Manchester United's Antony and Bayern Munich's Thomas Müller receive the most severe rating downgrades in EA FC 24. Both players have -10 pace deducted – as if they've lost a leg compared to FIFA 23. Here are more pace downgrades:
PLAYER | CLUB | PACE (DOWNGRADE) |
Cristiano Ronaldo | Al-Nassr | 77 (-4) |
Martin Ødegaard | Arsenal FC | 72 (-4) |
Kai Havertz | Arsenal FC | 78 (-3) |
Antony | Manchester United | 83 (-10) |
Thomas Müller | Bayern Munich | 59 (-10) |
Kingsley Coman | Bayern Munich | 89 (-3) |
Luka Jovic | AC Florence | 70 (-4) |
Christopher Nkunku | Chelsea FC | 82 (-6) |
Jadon Sancho | Manchester United | 78 (-3) |
Virgil van Dijk | Liverpool FC | 78 (-3) |
Sadio Mané | Al-Nassr | 85 (-5) |
There are some shocking ratings here. If someone says you can't notice the difference between 78 and 81 pace, tell them that's not true; you notice it in-game. The in-game difference becomes even clearer when a player is faster. The fact that Kingsley Coman now has 89 pace instead of 92 makes him less attractive.
Nevertheless, Coman is still one of the better gold cards, but just not as good as before. The downgrades for Nkunku and Antony are even more severe. Especially Antony will probably not understand what EA is doing here. At the beginning of FIFA 23, his gold card cost more than 60,000 coins, which will definitely not be the case in EA FC 24.
Now, the question is where EA Sports' scouts really made the mistake: with the pace rating for FIFA 23 or EA FC 24?
