FIFA 21 FUT Birthday: Release Date & Content (UPDATED)

FIFA Ultimate Team celebrates its 12th birthday this year. To celebrate, a new promo event awaits us with the annual FUT Birthday. We give you all the details about the release, the players, SBCs and reveal what to expect from this FIFA 21 event.

Prepare a big cake, because every year in March FUT celebrates its birthday. The FUT Birthday promo event is in the starting blocks. When will it be released? Which players are there? And what else can you expect? We'll tell you.

April 5 Update

FUT Birthday Team 2 Release & Content

We're back, baby! FUT Birthday Team 2 is here with more amazing cards. The headlines of the squad are Raheem Sterling and Luka Modrić, both of whom come with 92 OVR. The winger now has 5 stars on his Skill Moves and 4 stars for Weak Foot. Golden Boot winner Modrić's stats are reversed.

There's a nod at April Fools with meme lord Paulinho receiving a bloody strong card at CM. There are also a bunch of players that have 5 stars for both Skill Moves and Weak Foot. That's what we call a birthday party.

FUT Birthday Leak: Release Date & Content

The time of release is tonight - March 26, 7 pm CET. The FUT Birthday is officially on and will deliver two main teams, several SBC, Objectives players, Promo Packs and Lightning Rounds over the next couple of weeks. The new loading screen of FIFA 21 Ultimate Team teases three players that are supposedly going to be featured in Team 1.

These could be the following:

• Left: Ferland Mendy (Real Madrid) - Star sign: Gemini
• Center: Lucas Moura (Tottenham Hotspur) - Born August 13
• Right: Ivan Perišić (Inter) - Born 1989

These suggestions might seem a bit random. After all, there are many players that answer to these distinctions. However, Mendy, Moura, and Perišić align perfectly with the leakthat has been floating around Twitter since last night.

FUT Birthday Release: When Will It Start?

We don't know exactly when EA Sports will launch FUT Birthday. After the FUT Player Days event, the next promo is likely to be launched on March 19.

With the Winter Refresh apparently canceled this year, the annual FUT calendar now looks set to celebrate the birthday. The FUT Birthday Event in FIFA 21 should extend over a period of two weeks, until April 2.

What is the FUT Birthday Event in FIFA All About?

Last year, EA Sports released two FUT Birthday teams with players that kicked all types of ass. In addition to a position change, either skill moves or the weak foot of the players were improved.

In FIFA 20, the publisher gave us, among other things, ST Eden Hazard (Real Madrid) with 5-star skill moves and Kai Havertz with 90 OVR and 5-star weak foot. This is the type of content you should see this year too.

Which Players are Available During FIFA 21 FUT Birthday?

That is not yet known. Presumably, there will be two promo teams again this year, whose players will have increased stats as well as skill move or weak foot boots:

• FUT Birthday Team 1 on March 19
• FUT Birthday Team 2 on March 26

We can expect some squad building challenges, objective players, promo card packs and temporary SBCs. The popular FUT Party Bag will probably return once again.
