FIFA 21 is finally out and esports fans are preparing for the new season. At the start of the VBL Club Championship, the German FIFA professionals will also be playing in a brand-new tournament called "DFB ePokal powered by ERGO", a virtual version of DFB Pokal, the German Cup.
While the German FIFA pros are currently still preparing for the new season in Division Rivals and the FUT Champions Weekend League, the German Football Association has announced the start of the new DFB ePokal.

DFB ePokal: The First FIFA 21 Club Tournament in November
The Virtual Bundesliga and VBL Club Championship will already start into the new season next month, but there will be another tournament for the German FIFA 21 athletes this year.
More than a year after the first announcement, the "DFB ePokal powered by ERGO" will also start in November and is supposed to provide "real cup feeling" in FIFA 21.
More precisely, the cup will start its first season on November 14, 2020. The system is based on the real DFB Cup and is intended to write similarly exciting stories in which small clubs could prevail against huge favorites - David against Goliath.
Even small amateur teams will be able to join forces and compete for a real club, and with a bit of luck, make it to the big cup final in Berlin. Teams with three to five players are possible.
The DFB ePokal is played in three rounds: preliminary round, main round and final. The best eight teams make it to the final tournament in Berlin - at least if COVID-19 allows it.
DFB ePokal Entices with €25,000 Prize Money
40 teams each on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can still register for the ePokal on the homepage of the DFB eFootball department until December 18. Online, FIFA 21 will be played in the 90's mode of FIFA 21, during the offline rounds there will also be the possibility to play against each other in FUT mode.
The game is played in the "Best-of-Five" mode: The team that has scored five points first moves on to the next round. In the main round, the twelve best teams from the Virtual Bundesliga join the field of participants.
And best of all: the winning team will receive prize money of €25,000, while second place will receive €12,500 and third and fourth place will receive €5,000. You can find more details about the DFB ePokal in the official FAQ.
