First of all, before we tell you something about Ahmet Çalık's career: If you are one of those people who try to get some coins with FUT cards after the death of a footballer, then you are scum. And that's the nicest thing we can think of.You probably know "the drill": If a professional football player dies, there are people who trade those cards in FUT and thus drive up the price. The goal is to benefit from the increased demand. We know that from Junior Malanda, who was active at VfL Wolfsburg, or this season from Riuler. Cool, another death. Time to make some coins. We don't know what's going on in their heads, but yes, this part of the FUT community exists. In the meantime, the price of Çalık's silver card rose to over 10,000 coins. Fortunately, EA put a stop to this pretty quickly.

EA Fixes Caliks Price Range Permanently

In a statement on Twitter, the publisher announced that Çalık's price range will be locked to the current value, in order to prevent trading.

This is important, because as we said: just disrespectful to do business with his card – and to perceive a death as an opportunity for profit. It's just Ultimate Team. Even if that is inappropriate at this point, but you can really fill your pockets differently in FUT.

Instead, let's turn to Ahmet Çalık's obituary, because after all, he was a very popular player from Turkey and will be missed deeply. At the beginning of the 2020/2021 season, he moved from Galatasaray to Konyaspor. With Galatasaray, the defender won the championship in the Süper Lig twice. He also made it into the national team. In total, he stood on the pitch eight times for Turkey, his last game was in 2017.

We join the worldwide thoughts and prayers. R.I.P. Riuler, our thoughts are with you and our condolences go to your family and friends. We hope we'll see each other again one day – even if it's only in FIFA.
