FUT Season 4 is here, and EA Sports have announced some major changed to Division Rivals. What will change for players of the mode?
Division Rivals has been controversial in FIFA 22. Yeah, it's a cool idea but a lot of players complained, that it's just too much effort for rewards, that are ultimately not worth it. And that's why most players who are into FUT are regularly playing Division Rivals as well... for the rewards.
Now that FUT Season 4 is coming, EA Sports decided to change a few things around. One of those things how you got those sweet, tasty rewards. And in a shocking twist that no one saw coming: folks are still pissed off.
Division Rivals Gets Major Changes In Season 4
EA announced that, starting from February 3, Division Rivals will see major changes. This concerns the amounts of games you need, how ranks work and what kind of rewards you'll be getting.
The biggest change is probably the removal of Ranks in Division Rivals. What this means is, that if you get to a Division, you’ll receive the same rewards as everyone else in that Division. Doesn't matter if you're at the top or the very bottom. Additionally, Intermediary Ranks will be converted into Checkpoints to ensure you won’t fall from the top of your Division to the bottom too quickly. Sounds neat, right? Well...
EA also announced that there are also be extra stages in Divisions 1-4 to reach some of the game’s higher ranks, making the grind even longer. Also, from now on players will need "a minimum of 4 or 8 wins to achieve the Weekly Reward and Reward Upgrades." This is an increase of one each, from 3 or 7 before. Rewards are supposed to be adjusted as well and potentially be of higher value now, but EA hasn't given us all the details on that yet.
With the start of FUT Season 4, we've made some changes to Division Rivals. Players will now need a minimum of 4 or 8 wins to achieve the Weekly Reward and Reward Upgrades.

This has immediately been a controversial decision, as people are still complaining about the relentless grind in Division Rivals. A Twitter user calls it an "awful decision" and adds:
You cannot expect us to play 20 fut champs matches, 10 qualifying, and at least 8 rivals matches in one week to earn max rewards and that’s not even counting objectives…way too much…
This sentiment is echoed on the FIFA subreddit, with one user commenting:
That’s crap. 7 games were more than enough.
As you can see, EA is grinding everyone's gears again. Let's wait and see if these changes to Divison Rivals are actually "crap" or if they maybe end up being better than expected. In the meantime we will keep ourselves busy with Future Stars and some cool SBCs.
