FIFA 22 is available for pre-order! We'll show you what you'll get if you decide to be an early bird and buy the game in advance. What bonuses are there? Is the FIFA 22 pre-order worth it?
As has been the case for years, the new FIFA game comes on the market in several editions. We'll show you all the different versions of FIFA 22 and the bonuses that come with each one. We will also estimate whether it is worth to pre-order the game at all.
The FIFA 22 release date is October 1, 2021, but if you pre-order, you will have access to it a bit earlier. More on that and the other advantages of pre-ordering to follow below.
FIFA 22: Editions, Price, Bonuses
The following versions of FIFA 22 are available for purchase:
- Standard Edition - €69,99
- Standard Edition + 1050 Points - €79,98
- Standard Plus Edition - €79,99
- Standard Plus Edition + 1050 Points - €89,98
- Ultimate Edition - €99,99
- Ultimate Edition + 1050 Points - €109,98
The versions are available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Console players have to be aware that they won't be able to upgrade FIFA 22 from current-gen to next-gen, unless they get the Ultimate Edition. Be extremely careful if you plan on switching consoles in the coming months.
What's in the FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition?
Both the Standard and Ultimate Editions have the following bonuses:
- TOTW Player (FUT)
- Mbappé loan card (FUT)
- FUT Ambassador Loan Player (FUT)
- Career Mode Homegrown (Career Mode)
These are the exclusive Ultimate Edition bonuses:
- FUT Heroes card on December 1 (FUT) - if pre-ordered by August 11
- OTW card (FUT)
- 4,600 FIFA Points
- Upgrade entitlement (PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X)
- Early Access to FIFA 22 (September 27)
Free weekly packs that were part of the package in previous years are nowhere to be seen. We don't expect EA to add those in the last minute, so a minute of silence for that lost content.
Should I Pre-Order FIFA 22?
If you are a FUT player, then yes, a pre-order is worthwhile. The FIFA Points in combination with the early access before other players will give you a nice advantage in FIFA Ultimate Team.
Of course, the pre-order content can still disappoint you. The OTW card can be lame, and the FUT Hero card may end up being a player you didn't want or need.
As greedy as the whole scheme is, PS4 and Xbox One owners that may wish to upgrade their console within the next year or so should also probably go for the Ultimate edition, so they don't have to buy FIFA 22 twice.

If you are one of those gamers who prefer career mode, pro clubs or only play the occasional kick-off match, then we don't even recommend pre-ordering. Get it when it's a bit cheaper and fill the time with FIFA 21. You probably won't notice the difference anyway.
