FIFA 22 Real Madrid Ratings: How Strong Are Benzema, Alaba & Co.?

What impact will Benzema, Alaba and Vinicius have on Reals season? | © EA Sports/EarlyGame

FIFA 22 will be released on October 1st and we show you the official ratings. Which ratings do the top clubs get in the game? Today, we look towards Madrid - can Los Blancos finally conquer Europe again?

No Ronaldo, no party. This is how you can describe the appearance of Real Madrid since the departure of its superstar in the summer of 2018. Real won the league once since then (2019/20), but that's about it. Their claim is the same every year, but they are lacking the players to reach that goal. A possible successor was found in Eden Hazard, but the Belgian impressed more with hospital stays than with game-changing moments. Los Blancos lack a superstar to carry the team through the important games.

FIFA 22 Ratings Real Madrid

Karim Benzema Rating FIFA 22

Karim Benzema | Rating FIFA 21: 89 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 89 OVR

Benzema is like a good wine: his age makes him better and better. The Frenchman is the life insurance for Real, and is the only offensive player to deliver over the past few years. This season, he scored a total of 30 competitive goals in 46 appearances – a rate that is impressive.

In his first tournament with France since the 2014 World Cup, the 33-year-old scored four goals, but was unable to prevent the surprising loss against Switzerland despite his brace. Surprisingly, he doesn't get an upgrade.

Thibaut Courtois Rating FIFA 22

Thibaut Courtois | Rating FIFA 21: 89 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 89 OVR

Did not quite match his numbers from last season, but remains one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The Belgian has kept his box clean 17 times. He was also convincing at the European Championships, but had no chance to shine when Belgium was eliminated against Italy.

Casemiro Rating FIFA 22

Casemiro | Rating FIFA 21: 89 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 89 OVR

His performance has been fantastic for many years now. Casemiro holds Los Blancos' midfield together. The Brazilian proves to be a goal threat again and again, scoring six goals and four assists in the league. With Brazil, Casemiro only narrowly failed in the final of the Copa America against Argentina (0:1). Interesting fact: Casemiro has the highest xG value behind Karim Benzema and Vinicius - xG 6.69.

Toni Kroos Rating FIFA 22

Toni Kroos | Rating FIFA 21: 88 OVR | Rating: 88 OVR

Somehow, there are only two opinions about Kroos: either you adore him for his playing style, or you just can't stand him. For my part, Kroos is still one of the best midfielders in the world. The way he works with the ball and makes it his own... beautiful There's a reason he's been playing at Real Madrid for years now.

Despite my praise, there is no upgrade for the German. At the Euros, he was one of many disappointments, unfortunately. I'm sorry, Toni.

Luka Modric Rating FIFA 22

Lukas Modric | Rating FIFA 21: 87 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 87 OVR

Will this be the last season for the exceptional midfielder? The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner is entering his final year of contract with Los Blancos. For years, he has carried the burden of Real and Croatia on his shoulders – also during the last season. The 35-year-old sticks to his strong 87 rating.

Daniel Carvajal Rating FIFA 22

Daniel Carvajal | Rating FIFA 21: 86 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 85 OVR

Only 15 games in the whole season. Carvajal suffered injury after injury. He also missed the European Championship due to a muscle injury, but the Spaniard should be ready for action again at the end of August. In the few games in which Carvajal has played, he convinced as usual. But that's not enough for his FIFA 21 rating.

Eden Hazard Rating FIFA 22

Eden Hazard | Rating FIFA 21: 88 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 85 OVR

Wait, hold on! I love math. Two years for Hazard at Real are the equivalent of... five goals. The official transfer fee was about 115 million euros… So 23 million per goal – could be worse. Eden Hazard remains one of the biggest transfer flops in recent years (there is a lot of competition from Barcelona). Played at the Euros with Belgium, but missed the last game due to an injury.

David Alaba Rating FIFA 22

David Alaba | Rating FIFA 21: 84 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 84 OVR

What can I say? To kiss the jersey at the day of your presentation, that's just disrespectful. Nothing to argue about. But we won't judge him on his social skills.

David Alaba has taken over the leadership at Bayern Munich in the last two years. His free-kicks are always a potential threat. At the European Championships, he was one of the main reasons for the impressive journey of the Austrian team. He's definitely a good signing for Real Madrid after their loss of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.

Fede Valverde Rating FIFA 22

Fede Valverde | Rating FIFA 21: 83 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 83 OVR

Nothing else than respect for this man. Although his Red card against Atletico is a thing of the past, I always have to think about it when Valverde comes up... one of the best tactical fouls ever! The Uruguayan was often injured last season, but will continue to fight for his place in the starting XI. Valverde is flexible, he plays in the central midfield and on the right wing. That boy is the future of Real.

Gareth Bale Rating FIFA 22

Gareth Bale | Rating FIFA 21: 83 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 82 OVR

Unfortunately, the Welshman narrowly missed the gold medal in golf. Last season Bale went on loan to Tottenham. At his former club, he delivered 13 goals in 20 games. If he doesn't get injured, there is some hope for a comeback under Carlo Ancelotti. But last season was not enough for EA, he gets an 82(!).

Ferland Mendy Rating FIFA 22

Ferland Mendy | Rating FIFA 21: 83 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 83 OVR

Mendy is one of the most popular players in FIFA. With his pace (92) and physique (82), the Frenchman is very popular, especially at the beginning of Ultimate Team. At the end of the season, Mendy was injured and therefore missed the European Championship. The 26-year-old is a the future of the left side of Los Blancos. Marcelo didn't stand a chance.

Isco Rating FIFA 22

Isco | Rating FIFA 21: 84 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 82 OVR

The Spaniard is still on the decline. Isco rarely got any play time, Zinedine Zidane had no use for him. Perhaps he will rise again under Carlo Ancelotti, but we strongly doubt that. That's why he's down to 82.

Marco Asensio Rating FIFA 22

Marco Asensio | Rating FIFA 21: 82 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 83 OVR

Uh, that guy is already 25? Somehow I'm still waiting for the breakthrough of Asensio, but nothing happend yet. He was used a lot last season and showed his flexibility on the left and right wing (5 goals and 2 assists). Even if there is still room for improvement for the Spaniard, he goes up by one point.

Vinicius Junior Rating FIFA 22

Vinicius Junior | Rating FIFA 21: 80 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 80 OVR

Same goes for Vinicius. The Brazilian scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 35 games. It wasn't a bad season for him, but somehow, we're still waiting for the final breakthrough. But no pressure: at the age of 21, he still has enough time. No upgrade for him.

Marcelo Rating FIFA 22

Marcelo | Rating FIFA 21: 83 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 80 OVR

Disappointing season for the Brazilian left-back. As already mentioned, Marcelo was outplayed by Mendy. In his few appearances, he couldn't impress either. The former star defender is only a shell of himself. That's why Marcelo goes down to 80.

Rodrygo Rating FIFA 22

Rodrygo | Rating FIFA 21: 79 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 79 OVR

Real and its wings... that relationship is quite complicated. Nobody really convinces. Rodrygo, on the other hand, shows potential for the future. The Brazilian has a total of ten scorer points in just under 1,300 minutes – some good numbers. The 20-year-old will definitely get more playing time under Carlo Ancelotti, because 1,300 minutes are not enough for an upragde.

Eder Militao Rating FIFA 22

Eder Militao | Rating FIFA 21: 80 OVR | Rating FIFA 22: 82 OVR

No Ramos, no Varane: the future of Real's defensive line looks scary. Who, besides newcomer David Alaba, should keep things clean back there? Militao has hardly had a chance to show his skills since moving to Madrid and did not convince in his few appearances either. Anyone who choses Real Madrid in career mode, knows what has to be done.

Eduardo Camavinga Rating FIFA 22

Eduardo Camavinga | Rating FIFA 21: 76 OVR |Rating FIFA 22: 78 OVR

31 million for an 18-year-old teenager, typical Real Madrid. But okay, his market value is 55 million euros. Anyway, Camavinga is a real super talent. Half of Europe wanted the French, and until the very end, it looked like PSG would be his new club. But Real Madrid was Camavinga's favourite. He has made tremendous progress at Stade Rennes. In the central midfield, he shows his agility, passing and technical qualities. He is extremely well trained in offense and defense. Still, we have to wait and see how he develops in Madrid among all the superstars, but his first match included a goal, a good start for him. With an 78, the youngster gets pretty solid in FIFA 22.
