FIFA 21 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
If you are upgrading from a console in the same family (i.e. from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S), as a FIFA 21 owner you will benefit from the technically improved next-gen version for free thanks to Dual Entitlement.
All content from FIFA 21 Ultimate Team and VOLTA will be transferred to the new version thanks to backward compatibility. The game won't enter its next-gen phase until December 4 but you can pre-load it right now.
How to Preload FIFA 21 on the Xbox Series X|S
Microsoft's next-gen console has already been launched. Players around the world are immersing themselves in the brave new gaming world. If you have bought the digital version of FIFA 21 for Xbox One, you can already start the preload for Xbox Series X|S:
- Turn on the Xbox Series X|S (duh!)
- Press the Xbox button on the controller
- Navigate to "My games and apps" in the menu
- Click on your library and then on "All purchased games"
- Download FIFA 21 for Xbox Series X|S
How to Preload FIFA 21 on the PS5
As PlayStation 5 hasn't been released yet, it's not quite clear how to start the pre-load. However, Sony has revealed that the next-gen upgrades are hidden behind a separate menu item in the console's user interface.
So you will probably be able to download FIFA 21 from your game library on PS5 and then click on the Options button in the main menu to start the next-gen upgrade. PlayStation 5 will be released in North America on November 12, so we'll know exactly how it works soon enough.
