The inaugural season of Flashpoint league is beginning in a few hours, which means we can take a look at the finalized group draw and match schedule.
Flashpoint Season 1 draw sets up Dignitas – Cloud9 derby
The Flashpoint draw spread the twelve teams into three groups of four. The most interesting pairing is perhaps that of Dignitas and Cloud9 in Group C. If not for anything else, just for the history behind those organizations. Orgless and FunPlus Pheonix complete the group.
In what could be deemed the strongest of the three, Group B put together Gen.G Esports, Made in Brazil, Team Envy and Chaos Esports. Still, Gen.G should be considered an underlined favorite to exit the group.
That leaves Group A with, at least in theory, the least amount of talent. HAVU and c0ntact Gaming will want to spoil the Danish party of MAD Lions and Copenhagen Flames, but all in all, initial predictions don’t bet too much on the seasonal winner to come out of this group.
Here’s how the Flashpoint Season 1 groups look:
Group A
- c0ntact Gaming
- MAD Lions
- HAVU
- Copenhagen Flames
Group B
- Gen.G Esports
- Made in Brazil
- Team Envy
- Chaos Esports
Group C
- Dignitas
- Cloud9
- FunPlus Pheonix
- Orgless
The tournament begins tonight with the first round of play in Group A. MAD Lions – HAVU will be the very first fixture in Flashpoint history, followed by c0ntact Gaming – Copenhagen Flames.
