One most famous esports organizations, Fnatic, recently rebranded their logo. Thankfully not a whole lot changed beside the visual side of things.
It all began with orange
The 20th of January marked the moment Fnatic’s Twitter became completely orange. It was no doubt an obvious hint of the upcoming rebrand.

The team’s founder and CEO Sam Mathews also followed the orange trend and in turn changed his pictures. Fans didn’t have to wait long as Fnatic also released a brand new video promoting their Alpha Jerseys a few days later.
The new look
This will be the third time Fnatic change their logo over the 15 years of existence.
After 15 years, we're onto a new decade & with it an update to our identity and our purpose as a business. I'm so incredibly proud of the team who worked tirelessly and flawlessly to pull this together in the last months. The future of fnatic is here: https://t.co/YgLTHGW3eE pic.twitter.com/mZe5Z7brxn

Here’s how the team describes the changes made to its logo on the official website:
“Our new logo is simplified, cleaner, sharper and aligns us visually with our new aesthetic as a brand. The mark is much more adaptable than before; it is bold and solid across a range of use cases, from apparel to digital, hardware to in-game. The logo symbol is contructed on a grid of circles to create a final symbol that is geometrically perfect and aesthetically balanced. Sharp angles are present throughout the logo with the curves from the circle guides used to juxtapose to the edges and bring equillibrium to the mark as a whole.”
The new logo gives us a minimalistic feel, cutting out some elements of the old one. Reactions to the change varied greatly on the Fnatic forums. On a side note, the new Fnatic logo no longer reminds us of a weird looking humanoid.
In the last year many other organizations like Virtus.pro, LGD.Gaming have also changed the looks of their brands. Fnatic were no doubt following the trend while also looking for a PR stunt to introduce some of their new products. The team holds rosters in multiple esports like CS:GO, League of Legends, Dota 2, Fortnite, FIFA, Apex Legends and more.
