In shocking news, retired CS:GO professional player and streamer Shayene "shAy" Victorio has been sentenced to 116 years in prison by a Brazilian court on the counts of larceny and embezzlement.

Counter-Terrorists win?

Once upon a time, shAy was a CS:GO pro and one of the most prominent figures on the Brazilian female scene. She played both 1.6 and Global Offensive professionally over the span of 12 years before announcing retirement in May 2019.

Nowadays though her name made its way to the headlines for completely different reasons. A Brazilian court has found shAy guilty of numerous crimes all revolving around scams, larceny, and embezzlement.

Victorio and her then-partner ran a retail store of the shady kind. In the span of four years – from 2013 until 2017, the couple’s firm had reportedly failed to deliver on hundreds of orders… for which they’d already received payment. This theft parade inevitably led to the legal system’s involvement and the outcome hasn’t been favorable towards shAy. So far.

There are a couple of details to clear. First, shAy is yet to appeal the verdict. Of course, she immediately denied any involvement in illegal actions. She confirmed however that there was indeed foul play going on, just that it was run entirely by her partner. What the appeal would lead to I something we’re going to keep an eye on.

Second, even if the appeal is unsuccessful and the sentence stands, shAy faces a maximum of “only” 30 years – the maximum sentence according to Brazilian law. Worst case scenario, she might be out somewhere around Portal 3’s release date.
