Fortnite honors the World Cup solo champion with the Bugha Throwback Cup and the American player even participates in the Cup himself. We have all the info for you.

Fortnite has decided to give Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf the honor to organize his own cup in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Bugha won the Fortnite Solo World Championship, while Aqua and Nyhrox won the Duo World Cup. The latter organized a Duo Cup yesterday and today.

Bugha's Throwback Cup will take place on July 30 and 31.

Here's How the Fortnite Bugha Cup Will Go Down

On Thursday, starting at 6:00 pm CET, all players have the opportunity to participate in twelve games within four hours. The tournament is regionally limited and takes place over two rounds. The top 100 players from each region will qualify for the finals, with the exception of NA East, where Bugha is waiting for the top 99 players. Bugha is obviously sent directly to the final round without having to qualify.

Prize Pool

Bugha's Throwback Cup has $100,000 total prize pool spread across all regions. The prize pool for Europe is split as follows:

  • 1st place: $14,000
  • 2nd place: $6,500
  • 3rd place: $4,000
  • 4th place: $3,000
  • 5th place: $2,500
  • 6th - 10th place: $2,000

You can find the breakdown for the other regions in the official rules for the Throwback Cups.

Both the Throwback Duo and the Solo Cup are a great way to honor last year's World Champions as hosts. Aqua, Nyhrox and Bugha have collected many memories during the World Cup and have become known worldwide. To now have the chance to compete against them in their respective regions is a real honor and in our opinion worth even more than the prizes. We are curious to see who will take the victory and how far the pros will go.
