Fortnite's "Save the World" mode will no longer be available to Mac players with the next patch. As the battle between Epic Games and Apple is still not over but now hits us directly!

A post from Epic Games said that Fortnite's version 14.20 will cause bugs in the current version 13.40 for Mac users. Since Apple now prevents Epic from patching its games for MacOS, this means that "Save the World" will have serious problems when the next update is released.

Epic Games to Offer Refunds

Epic Games offers refunds for those who purchased the game last year. This means that Epic Games will provide refunds to players who purchased or upgraded to a Founders or Startup Pack in Save the World for macOS between September 17, 2019, and September 17, 2020, and played the game. In addition, the cost of all V-Bucks spent on macOS for Lamas during this period will also be reimbursed.

A cool feature of Epic: players do not have to claim a refund. The refund will be issued automatically, and the players' accounts will still keep the V-Bucks and items purchased. Cross-platform play allows players to continue playing on PlayStation 4, Windows PC or Xbox One.

In addition, since September 17, 2020, the Rescue World starter packs on macOS is no longer available for purchase.

What about Fortnite Battle Royale?

Fortnite Battle Royale is still playable for Mac users with version 13.40, but will not be updated for the same reasons, says Epic.Apple kicked Fortnite out of its App Store for MacOS and iOS in August after Epic implemented a V-Bucks payment option that intentionally bypassed Apple's in-app purchasing systems. Epic responded with a lawsuit against Apple and a video mocking the company, describing its App Store practices as unfair and a violation of U.S. law.Three weeks ago, a federal judge ruled that Apple could not terminate Epic's access to development tools for its own Unreal Engine on Apple platforms. However, the judge did not order Apple to reinstate Fortnite in the App Store. Most recently, Apple referred to Epic Games' lawsuit as an "advertising campaign".So, the war of the two technology giants is not over yet.
