We have bad news for you. The UFOs might finally have disappeared from the Fortnite map, but it looks like a new horror is coming to replace them.
It's not magic, nor is it aliens. This new monster is born of steel, and some of you may remember it.
We're talking about the giant B.R.U.T.E. robots that freaked the community out in a previous Fortnite season. They've slumbered in the safe for a long time, but now they might return.
What Are The B.R.U.T.E. Mechs?
The B.R.U.T.E. Mechs are vehicles from Fortnite that, to put it simply, are freaking OP. They were added to the game at the beginning of Chapter 1, Season 10, and could be controlled by two players.

While one player would be the 'driver' and control the movement, the other player was the 'gunner', and would control the rockets and shotgun. But the driver wasn't defenseless without a gunner, they could quickly sprint into combat, perform quite impressive super jumps and stomp both opponents and buildings into the ground.
Sounds OP? It was. Let's take a closer look at the these weapons.
Shotgun
- Magazine size: 10
- Damage: 50
- Headshot multiplier: 1.5 times
Rocket launcher
- Damage per missile: 50
- Fires up to ten missiles at the same time.
These beasts also had a protective shield. You could use 200 materials of any kind to build a shield for 5 seconds, which the B.R.U.T.E. robot would protect.
Are The B.R.U.T.Es Coming Back To Fortnite In Season 8?
Fortnite Leaker ShiinaBR found the file "FundingStation.Mech.FundedAmount". This suggests that later in the season, players will be able to vote in Fortnite on whether the B.R.U.T.E. robots should come to the island. However, given the divisiveness in the community about these metal beasts, it's unclear whether we'll get the original B.R.U.T.E. robots in the game or whether a whole new type of robot is introduced. Leaker HYPEX claimed it is a new form of mech with the following changes:
- Mechs now have a Robotic Vocal effect for voice chat
- The size of the props from the various emotes has been adjusted
- The mechs can now swim
- The mechs have better charging effects
If this is true, the newer variant could not be used as aggressively as before, which is a good thing.
Please don't vote for these things to come back though, even if they have been nerfed, they're just too broken.
