All good things come in threes. After a dramatic live event on Saturday, Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 has now been released under the name "Flipped" and has completely changed the game as we knew it! In addition to new skins, there is a completely new map and insanely cool new gameplay features for the first time in absolutely ages. Let's wait no longer, and dive into the details!
Fortnite Chapter 3 Map
We thought that we'd have to wait forever, but Epic Games have now dropped the new Fortnite Chapter 3 map shortly after the live event. The island as we knew it has completely changed. Most over the Island is now covered in snow for the winter time, but we also have a stretch of desert that reminds us of Paradise Palms and a bunch of new places like Sanctuary and the Daily Bugle. The most blatant: Real weather changes are now possible in Fortnite. This means that a bright and sunny day can quickly turn into a storm. Oh, and if you're unlucky, you might even get caught in a tornado! Oh, and Tilted Towers is back, folks!

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 - Battle Pass
Those who purchase the new Battle Pass can now play characters like Spider-Man and the Foundation, spoken and played by none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. We told you so!

Fortnite Chapter 3 - New Gameplay Features
It also looks like the core gameplay is getting mixed up a bit. There are two new mechanics in Chapter 3 - sliding and winging - that make the game experience even faster! Especially for the crazy players out there. Oh, and for those of you who spend a lot of time in the game's Creative Mode, there is now an opportunity to earn Battle Pass XP in player-created experiences. How cool is that?
That being said, developer Epic Games is introducing some permanent elements to the game. The studio explains this as follows:
This new chapter brings camps into play, where players and their team can heal and store items from match to match. Camping takes on a completely new meaning. As always, there are new weapons and items and the brand new ultimate prestige - the Victory Crown. If you win every round, you keep the crown!
This is only the third time we've got a whole new island since Fortnite launched. We are super hyped and excited to see what could happen in the course of the game, and look forward to the future of Fortnite Chapter 3.
