When Will Fortnite Chapter 3 Be Released?
The finale of Fortnite Chapter 2 will take place on December 4 at 22:00 CET. Fortnite leaker Hypex also theorizes that we will get a longer downtime afterward and Fortnite Chapter 3 will then be released on December 6 or 7.
What will happen in Fortnite Chapter 3?
There are a few leaks and theories for the upcoming Chapter 3. We have to say that none of them have been officially confirmed by Epic Games, but we know some of what the data miners have dug up. There's usually always a shred of truth behind the leaks, and often enough, things happen exactly as they were predicted. So, let's take a look inside.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Map
Probably the most exciting is the Chapter 3 Map. Apollo Island will almost certainly be destroyed. That means it's time for a new Fortnite map! According to Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, the new Chapter 3 Map will be called Artemis. We will get new and old POIs on the island and probably even different biomes!
Slide mechanic in Fortnite
Another leaked change for Fortnite Chapter 3 is the new slide mechanic, which is the ability for players to slide. This feature is something that is already known from many other games, such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Warframe, and Apex Legends. However, this will be the first time that the slide mechanic could come to Fortnite. This in turn means big changes to gameplay!
Rideable Animals in Fortnite
Leaker Hypex found files at the beginning of Fortnite Season 7 that points to a new animal class. Apparently, it has to do with rideable animals - a feature that many players have been wanting for a while now. According to Hypex, the rideable animals were still in very early development, which is why Season 8 was the earliest it could be expected to have them. However, they are still not in the game yet. But wouldn't that be a huge new feature, fitting for a new Fortnite chapter?
Throwing Axes in Fortnite
The first new weapon for Fortnite Chapter 3 has also been leaked! Recently, Hypex has uncovered data for a throwing axe that could eventually find its way into Chapter 3. The introduction of such weapons would add to Fortnite's already impressive repertoire of gadgets and ever-changing meta.

New Crossovers in Fortnite
After getting a bunch of collabs in Fortnite Season 8 like the Dune characters, Resident Evil, and the long-awaited Naruto crossover, new fandoms have already been teased to come to Fortnite. Among them are Spider-Man and The Matrix! It's even quite possible that Spider-Man will become a Battle Pass skin similar to Carnage.
