With so many anime skins and other Japanese-inspired cosmetics already in the game, the Neo-Tokyo theme season makes complete sense.
What Is Neo-Tokyo
One of the questions you might have is: what exactly is Neo-Tokyo? Obviously, it's a reference to a futuristic version of the massive metropolis, although which version we'd see remains to be seen.
Neo-Tokyo is the name the capital of Japan took in the famous anime cult-classic Akira. In it, a nuclear detonation in 1982 wiped out the original city, kick-starting World War III, and forcing the government to rebuild on an artificial island near the place where the first Tokyo used to be located.

It's more likely that Neo-Tokyo is simply a vibe: Big, bright neon signs everywhere and Japanese kanji serving as ornaments to a gorgeous cyberpunk setting.
