Fortnite's big mid-season update is live and has brought a new creature into the game: the big dino Klombo! But where can you find him, and what can he actually do? Here are the details.
The cute Klombo dinosaur was first seen in the Fortnite trailer for Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1. However, he wasn't in the game when the new chapter started, much to the disappointment of players who were looking for him all over the map. Soon, it became clear that the big purple dino will appear later in the game. And now the time has finally come! Klombo landed in Fortnite with the Mid-Season Update 19.10, and we'll show you what he can do and where to find him.
What Are Klombos?
A Klombo is a dinosaur-like creature that somewhat resembles an ankylosaur. In the game files, the dino was known by the name "Butter Cup". Unfortunately, it did not keep the cute name. There aren't just one of these creatures trudging across the island, but several. Despite their overwhelming size, the Klombos are peaceful and won't attack you unless provoked and shot at.Located on top of the dino's head is a blowhole where they release air every now and then. Standing there will launch you into the air. Sometimes the Klombos will also puff out useful items if they find something to snack on. The diet of Klombos is very diverse as they will pretty much eat anything you put in front of them. But most of all, they like Klomberries, a new food item added in this update.
Beware! If you provoke the Klombo, it will turn red, chase you, and even shoot fireballs at you! But you can calm their anger with its favorite food, the Klomberry.
So far, it is unclear if it is possible to actually kill one as they take very little damage, but I'm sure someone is testing this out as we speak.
Where Are The Klombos In Fortnite?
It seems like there are certain spawn locations where you can find the Klombos. So far, we have found three locations:
- Northwest of Tilted Towers
- South of Coney Crossroads near the pond
- West of Chonker's Speedway on the side of the road
How To Feed Klombos The Klomberries
To feed a Klombo, you simply need to find a Klomberry and throw it near the Klombo. The Klomberries resemble raspberries and are scattered around the map hanging from bushes. The Klombo then sucks them up and changes color. There are a number of places on the map where you can find them. Keep in mind that most of the berries are near a Klombo.
Once the big dino has eaten a berry, he then thanks you with an item or weapon, which he spits at your feet.
Can You Ride The Klombos?
Many thought that the big dino from the Chapter 3 trailer would be the first animal in Fortnite that you can ride. However, that is not the case. You can climb on the back of the Klombos and be carried, but you sadly cannot control them. However, as mentioned above, his blowhole still serves as a wonderful launchpad
And that's it. We hope we were able to enlighten you a bit about Fortnite's cute new mascot. So what are you waiting for? Jump off the Battle Bus and pay the Klombo a visit!
