It's time for a big Fortnite tournament! The Fortnite DreamHack Open is back once again and with it a big prize pool. Check out everything about the upcoming event!
The last time we saw a DreamHack Fortnite event was back in January. Now, DreamHack returns in 2021 with not one but two Fortnite tournaments - The Fortnite Cash Cup Extra and the Fortnite DreamHack Open. Details regarding the two events were revealed directly by DreamHack. Both events will be only in North America East and Europe.

Fortnite Cash Cup Extra
The first tournament that's scheduled is the Fortnite Cash Cup Extra. It'll feature the top 132 teams from the Cash Cup. It'll be Trios only and the dates for the event are as follows:
- Cash Cup #1 - April 15 (Top 132 teams from Apr 12’s Cash Cup)
- Cash Cup #2 - April 21 (Top 132 teams from Apr 19’s Cash Cup)
- Cash Cup #3 - May 12 (Top 132 teams from May 10’s Cash Cup)

Fortnite DreamHack Open
The bigger event and highlight of the announcement is the Fortnite DreamHack Open. With $250,000 in prize money on the line, we're bound to see some of the best players from around the world. Unlike the Cash Cup Extra, the format here will be Duos. The tournament will take place between April 16-18. Here's the full schedule:
Europe
- Heat #1 - Fri Apr 16, 19:00-22:00 CEST
- Heat #2 - Sat Apr 17, 15:00-18:00 CEST
- Semi-finals - Sat Apr 17, 20:00-23:00 CEST
- Grand finals - Sun Apr 18, 16:00-22:00
North America East
- Heat #1 - Fri Apr 16, 5PM-8PM EST
- Semi-finals - Fri Apr 16, 9PM-12AM EST
- Grand finals - Sat Apr 17, 4PM-10PM EST
How do I register for the Fortnite DreamHack Open
In order to take part, you'll first have to sign up. Follow these steps:
- Open the Fortnite client
- Click on the "Compete" tab
- Find the DreamHack Online Open
- Click the card and you should be registered
