A few days still separate us from the release of the next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Battle Royale hit Fortnite from Epic Games will also hit the hardware with some improvements

It is perhaps THE game of the last few years: Fortnite. Since the release of the Battle Royale shooter about three years ago, the hype surrounding the game has known no bounds. So, it is not surprising that the game will also play an important role in the soon-to-be-released next-gen consoles. The developers have now revealed which improvements await us in Fortnite for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Fortnite for PS5 & Xbox Series X: Just in Time for the Release

The best news: Just in time for the Xbox Series X launch on November 10 and the PlayStation 5 release on November 19, Fortnite will also receive a comprehensive update and benefit from the new hardware in an improved form.

The makers will give us a completely new build of the game, while all the progress we've made so far can be easily adopted. That's fan service, baby.

Fortnite: Improvements on PlayStation 5

On the new Sony hardware, Fortnite shines in new splendor thanks to 4K resolution and 60 FPS, while a new dynamic graphics framework and physics model provide additional gaming fun. Grass and trees now react realistically to explosions, while smoke and liquids are said to look even better. Even the storm comes up with some new graphic effects.

But that's not all. Fortnite supports the PS5 DualSense controller: Thanks to haptic feedback you will feel if you are holding an SMG, an assault rifle, or a sniper in your hands.

And thanks to the PS5 Activities feature, you can jump directly from the console's main menu to a lobby and get into the game immediately. Is that cool or is that cool? Oh yeah, and thanks to the SSD hard drive, loading times are virtually non-existent, while even the split-screen multiplayer now has 60 FPS.

Fortnite on Xbox Series X|S

But Fortnite fans can also expect several improvements on the two new Microsoft consoles. 4K/60 FPS on the Series X, 1080P/60 FPS on the Series S. The dynamic graphics improvements of the PS5 version will also be introduced in the Xbox counterpart, while Fortnite will also benefit from shorter loading times and flicker across the screen in split-screen with sweet 60 frames per second.

Fortnite veterans will also receive a bonus: Between November 4 and January 15, 2021, all players - regardless of platform - can secure the legendary Fortnite Throwback Axe Pickaxe, which was available with the original release of the game with Season 1.

But even after the release of Fortnite for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, developers want to find new ways to benefit from the additional hardware power of next-gen consoles.
