If you enjoyed playing Fortnite on your iPhone, but haven't been able to in the last two years, then finally your woes have ended, because thanks to Microsoft you'll be able to play the game even on iOS. How does this work? Well, that's what we're here for and we will let you know.

Quick recap though, Up until 2020, anyone could enjoy the Battle Royale on their phone — any phone for that matter whether it be Android or Apple's iOS — but then with the whole Apple vs. Epic spilled into court and Fortnite was removed from the App Store.

Fortnite Back on iOS

How can you play Fortnite on iOS? Well, it isn't as simple as downloading it from the Apple Store, sadly. You will need to have a Microsoft account though. That's because with the extended Xbox Cloud access, you can get games from Epic Games on all your devices, which includes Fortnite.

Xbox Gaming vice president and product head, Catherine Gluckstein explained in a blog post that Fortnite is now available for free via the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta. This means if you're in any of these 26 countries, you can use Xbox Cloud Gaming to play Fortnite. This includes on PC and mobile.

Now if you really want to play Fortnite on your iPhone (or any other mobile device), all you have to do is use the cloud and you can play Fortnite directly in your internet browser. You don't need to download the game, nor do you need a membership. So proceed as follows:

  1. Visit Xbox.com/play in your web browser.
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
  3. Play and get your next win in Fortnite.

With this, you can easily bring Fortnite back to your iPhone. You don't need an Apple Store account either, just internet access, which you need anyway for Fortnite and the Xbox Cloud. Then you can play Fortnite again on the go! As simple as that.

What are you waiting for? Grab your phone, buy some awesome skins in the item shop and get going again!
