Epic Games seems to have made a mistake in Fortnite. After updating the item shop, some players noticed that they were accidentally offering an item for sale that was actually from the current Battle Pass! In every season of Fortnite, you can buy the so-called Battle Pass. This contains a wide variety of cosmetics, ranging from gliders, pickaxes, paint jobs, loading screens, to music tracks, V-Bucks, and skins.
In over three years, Fortnite has never sold a Battle Pass reward separately through the game's item shop. That wasn't supposed to happen, either, as there is a core promise that these rewards will never be put up for sale at a later date. However, that is exactly what has now happened.

Battle Pass Item From Season 6 Suddenly in the Item Shop
The music track "Wild", which contains the soundtrack of the recent Fortnite event "Zero Crisis Finale", was available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop for several hours. But those who have been paying attention know that this track is currently part of the Chapter 2 Season 6 Battle Pass, available as a Tier 70 reward.
Fans were quick to react to the supposed change in Epic's rules, and a spokesperson for the company soon confirmed that the music would be pulled.
"It shouldn't be there. We're going to take it out of the shop."

An hour later, Epic used its Fortnite status Twitter account to make an official statement:
"The Wild Lobby Track was made available in the Item Shop today, even though it is also a Battle Pass reward. We realize this was a mistake and will remove it from the item shop."

One explanation suggested by some fans is that Wild was originally intended to be a shop item and was only added to Battle Pass at the last moment and that the contents of the item shop and the game's social posts were already planned in advance.
If true, that would mean Epic decides weeks in advance what to sell in Fortnite's item shop and then programs everything in at that time. Fortnite will refund all purchases of the Wild music item, an Epic spokesperson told Eurogamer. The item should not have been included in the game's item shop, the company confirmed, and its appearance did not represent a change in the rules around Battle Pass item exclusivity.
