Epic Games released a hotfix patch for this week in Fortnite with 17.11. The update added the long-awaited alien nanites and some new weapons.
It looks like the rumors were true. Fortnite patch 17.20 will be delayed until next week (at the very least). In the meantime, Epic gave Fortnite fans a hotfix update that added some of the things we expected in 17.20. The alien nanites, which will be part of the Season 7 Week 5 challenges, are finally in the game. Here are the full notes.
Fortnite 17.11 Official Patch Notes
The 17.11 patch isn't particularly big, but it's quite impactful.
Alien Nanites
First and foremost, the update added alien nanites.

Alien Nanites can be found on the ground as loot, on top of Abductors, and in the Mothership. You can use alien nanites as a crafting component to upgrade your weapons from regular to alien tech. In order to do that, you'll need an SMG, Assault Rifle, or Sniper of rare or higher quality. Alternatively, you can utilize nanites to create an alien biodome as shown in the tweet above. This makes the new item quite versatile, but for now, it'll remain disabled in competitive.

Holly Hatchery/Afterparty
Holly Hedges will never be the same. With the 17.11 patch, it turned into an alien-infested hive filled with alien parasites called Holly Hatchery. That's great news for anyone who wants to sacrifice a bit of their health and gain increased speed and jump distance. Another location that got changed after the latest update is the Believer Beach party. We're now seeing the Afterparty.
Zyg and Choppy's Ray Gun
The 17.11 patch also added two brand-new NPCs in Fortnite – Zyg and Choppy. Choppy is an alien and Zyg is his trusty robot. You can find them wandering around the map, planting alien parasite eggs. You can find the iconic duo near Hydro 16 and if you manage to take them down, you'll be rewarded with the Mythic Ray Gun, an improved version of the regular Kymera Ray Gun. That's easier said than done, since the area they roam in is heavily infested.

Zyg and Choppy are also part of the upcoming challenges for Week 5, and you'll have to "dance near them".
