The Fortnite servers are down and you can already download a brand new patch! Update 17.30 is coming to PC, consoles and mobile devices. We go over the patch notes for you and tell you what the most important changes are.
Epic Games just released the 17.21 update last week, adding a new weapon and timer to the game for Ariana Grande's upcoming live concert. It looks like we'll be getting more new weapons and some other new content in the game with today's update!
Fortnite Downtime
Fortnite update 17.30 starts in parallel with Fortnite's usual server downtime today, August 03.
The downtime started earlier than usual today, at 6:30 in the morning, and came back at around 11 AM earlier today. When you're reading this now, you completely missed the Fortnite downtime. Lucky you.

Fortnite 17.30 Patch Notes
It seems like with the new Fortnite patch 17.30, we'll be getting both a new weapon and quests to go along with the live Ariana Grande event coming to Fortnite!
New Fortnite weapons
Even before the server was down, Fortnite tweeted about "A UFO in your hands." With pretty high probability, this is the Grabi-Itron, a new Fortnite weapon that lets you grab and throw things. The new weapon was teased in the Season 7 launch trailer before being added to the game files with the current Update 17.30.
But the Fortnite leaker HYPEX data-minded even more Fortnite weapons. The first is a powerful new pulse rifle. The second is the Prop-Ifier, which allows you to disguise yourself as an object. In addition, the creative mode gets a new weapon. Nope, not a firearm. You'll finally be able to use a sword in Creative mode!

POIs Destroyed?
It was also teased a while ago that Coral Castle would be destroyed by an alien invasion, but now it suggests that we may have to say goodbye to more than one location. Slurpy, Corny & Coral are supposed to turn into zones without gravity!
Well, I don't know if we should look forward to that, though... Otherwise, as with every patch, there will be some bug fixes again. If you're interested, you can read about them on the official Fortnite Trello board.
