Fortnite's crossovers are constantly ongoing, and they don't seem to be losing any steam, as each month we seem to get some new skin. More and more characters from movies, TV, other video games, comics, and real-life icons are appearing in the game. In our weekly series 'Fortnite skins Background', we want to introduce you to each of these Fortnite characters, one at a time. Today, we dare to look at the Marvel villain: Carnage.
You have probably heard of Spider-Man and maybe even Venom, but who is Carnage? The simple answer is, Carnage is the enemy of both Spider-Man and the anti-hero Venom. But, it is a little more complicated than that, so let’s dive into Carnage’s backstory from the Marvel Comics.
- Last week we had a look at Shang-Chi!
Carnage’s Background
Carnage is an extraterrestrial parasite known as Symbiotes, who forms a bond with its victims in exchange for superhuman abilities. The Symbiote is from space and flew to earth on a meteorite. Carnage is traditionally more powerful than Venom even though Carnage spawned from Venom. The short of it is, Venom lost a part of the symbiote during a prison break and that was how Carnage was born. Like Venom, Carnage has had multiple hosts, but the most famous one is the serial killer Cletus Kasady. The personality of a serial killer matches that of the symbiote left behind, therefore, giving Carnage greater power. All of this is based on Marvel Comics and could be slightly different from that of the cinematic universe.
How Can You Get Carnage in Fortnite?
Carnage is the latest collaboration between Fortnite and Marvel. The Carnage Skin is a part of the Season 8 Battle Pass and this is the only way to get the skin at this point in time. The Fortnite Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks, so around $8 if you wish to purchase it that way. Another way to get the Battle Pass is to sign up for Epic's monthly skin subscription, Fortnite Crew. This comes with the current season's Battle Pass and a ton of other skins and cosmetics. September's Fortnite Crew Pack is The Burning Wolf and costs $12 per month. Whichever way you pick, you are getting quite a bit for your dollars.
- Did you know Will Smith is in Fortnite?
Now that we know a little bit more about where Carnage comes from, you can decide if it is worth purchasing the skin from Epic Via the Battle Pass. If you end up getting the Battle Pass, keep in mind that Carnage is locked on Page 10, so it will take a lot of Fortnite XP to unlock it.
We will be back next week with more Fortnite Skin Backgrounds, so keep us in your hero rotation!
