Fortnite fans will soon be able to download a brand-new patch - Update 18.10. The update is coming to PC, consoles, and mobile devices, bringing new weapons, a new item and more to Fortnite.Fortnite Season 8 landed on the island with a bang. But now, after only two weeks, we're preparing for the first patch of the new season.Update 18.10 is about to be released and Epic has revealed a few details about what to expect when we download the new patch.Here's an overview of the expected downtime and the first patch notes.
Fortnite Downtime
Fortnite Update 18.10 will be implemented during Fortnite's usual server downtime today, September 28.The downtime began at 04:00 ET (09:00 BST, 10:00 CEST). It is not known how long the servers will be down, but the servers usually come back after about an hour (let's see how long it takes this time). So all you have to do is hold out a little longer, and you'll be back in!

Reset Arena-Points
Finally, the time has come! The arena points in Fortnite will be reset, and you can start working towards a respectable score again.
Revised XP-System
Players have been complaining since the beginning of Season 8 that it takes an extremely long time to level up. The only way to get XP fast has been to play the "impostor" mode, all thanks to a change Epic made to reduce XP gain by 50%. But good news: Epic has accepted the criticism and now wants to improve the XP system.
New Weapons
We expect a couple of new weapons to be released with Fortnite Patch 18.10. So keep your eyes peeled for the Combat ARand the Combat SMG!
New Item: Spicy Splashes
There's also a new item coming to the game - Spicy Splashes. Similar to the Chug Splashes you already know, this 'spicy' version will be throwable; meaning you can get both yourself and your friends wet. The Spicy Splashes give you:
- 20 healing (no shield, only greenlife)
- A speed multiplier of 1.4 for 1 minute
