Fortnite Patch 14.40 has arrived - and with it, we got some spooky challenges that will unlock cool rewards! Ready to trick and treat your way through some challenges?
The Halloween event Fortnite: Nightmares is here! And as always, there are big changes on the map and in gameplay. After you have been eliminated, you will return to the island as a shadow to haunt the players still alive. But that's not all: like every year, there are many exciting challenges and spooky rewards to unlock.
Fortnite: Nightmares Challenges and Rewards
Challenges for Fortnitemares 2020
- Become a shadow (3) - 40,000 XP
- Cover 100 meters on a witches' broom (100) - 40.000 XP
- Eat sweets (25)
So far, only the first three tasks have appeared. Nevertheless, the other challenges have already been leaked by the data miners. Three of them will be activated on October 24 and 27, respectively.
- Cause damage with a possessed vehicle (Unlock: October 24)
- Detect players as shadows (Unlock: October 24)
- Eliminate Shadows Midas (Unlock: October 24)
- Eliminate players as shadows (Unlock: October 27)
- Visit various witches' huts (Activation: October 27)
- Consume legendary loot as a shadow (Release: October 27)

Besides the XP and the Midas Shadow paint, these are the following rewards to unlock:
- Smash O'-Lantern Pickax
- Bobo Back Bling
- Bobo Emote
- Shadow Emote
- Shadows Midas Emote
During the Fortnitemares event in Creative Mode, four featured islands matching the event will also be playable. Numbers of a mysterious code have been hidden on each of these featured islands. If you explore the eerie islands and combine the total of 20 numbers, you will get the skin "Wrath of Wrath."
