Fantasy novels are now on the list of crossovers in Fortnite as Brandon Sanderson's Kelsier from Mistborn is already in the item shop. How surprised are you?
Fortnite crossovers are something that always keeps us on our toes as you never know what Epic have in store next. We've seen numerous comic book superheroes, movie icons, and real-life people but this next one totally got us unprepared. To be completely honest I never expected a character from a novel to make it into Fortnite yet here we are with Kelsier from Mistborn.

What's Mistborn?
Mistborn is a series of fantasy novels by the American author Brandon Sanderson. The series takes place in a region called Final Empire on the world Scadrial. Kelsier is one of the most important characters in the lore along with his disciple Vin. According to leakers, it took five months to get Kelsier into Fortnite. It's very likely that Vin will also become a Fortnite skin at some point in the future.
Fun Fact: according to the author of Mistborn it took five months to get Kelsier in Fortnite, they are also saying that Vin from Mistborn could become a fortnite skin in the future, but it would probably be around 6+ months before it happens if it does happen. pic.twitter.com/i87IP7gDOz

Mistborn's Kelsier in Fortnite
Epic Games confirmed the crossover with a somewhat cryptic tweet that referenced the Mistborn books.

Less than a day later and Kelsier was released in the Fortnite item shop with his own bundle that consists of:
- Kelsier Outfit with two styles
- Volcanic Glass Daggers Pickaxe
- Hemalurgic Spikes Back Bling
- Kelsier-themed Loading Screen
The hype surrounding the announcement wasn't much, as many of the players simply weren't familiar with the book series. It's one of the weirder collaborations by Epic Games. The Fortnite community probably won't be interested in reading the two trilogies but who knows. Maybe Kelsier will motivate players to pick up the fantasy series and read it all in a single breath?
Epic's official announcement regarding the crossover doesn't hint if there'll be more to come in the future or whether some sort of event is on the way.
