A mysterious new countdown has appeared in the lobby and is sitting in the middle of the island of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7. But what does it all mean? We've got a few theories that attempt to explain what this timer could represent.
Yesterday, Epic Games released Fortnite patch 17.21. Besides a new weapon, the next thing we all noticed was that a strange countdown appeared in the lobby. Later, it turned out that this countdown could also be found in the sky projected as a giant hologram. What does it mean? We can at least say it is a countdown to some kind of massive season 7 event or maybe an in-game concert.
We've come up with a few theories as to what the Fortnite Season 7 countdown could be for.
What Is The Fortnite Season 7 Countdown?
Given the Fortnite Season 7 theme is aliens and UFOs, a massive scale attack on the island is a high probability, an incoming alien invasion. First, there were crop circles, then an alien welcome party, alien parasites, and lastly, you got to hatch some alien babies. It was also teased a while back that Coral Castle would be the first major location to be destroyed by an alien invasion, but now, it suggests that we may have to say goodbye to more than one location.

Ariana Grande Concert in Fortnite
A second theory would be a virtual Ariana Grande concert, and this has been speculated on for a long time. But, to happen without heavy promotion seems unlikely, unless we see some crazy push by Epic in the next few days.During the ongoing dispute between Epic and Apple, it was revealed that a collaboration with Ariana Grande was being considered. Later, a leaker claimed on Reddit that both a skin and a virtual concert would be coming soon. Further, he wrote that even Epic Games employees have already conducted a test launch for Ariana Grande's in-game concert. However, this is just speculation and nothing has been confirmed by Epic Games.
