Find out which are the rarest emotes in Fortnite Battle Royale history and why they are so rare.
Emotes are a fun way to express yourself in Fortnite, whether you're celebrating a victory or taunting your opponents.
While many emotes are available for purchase in the item shop or through the Battle Pass, some are incredibly rare and highly sought after by players. In this article, we'll take a look at the rarest emotes in Fortnite, how to get them, and why they matter.
The Rarest Fortnite Emotes Ever
Fortnite has hundreds of emotes, but some are much harder to obtain than others. Here are the top five rarest emotes in Fortnite:
Ride the Pony/Pony Up
This emote was available as a free item on tier 20 in the Battlepass of Season 2 in Fortnite, which would normally mean that this item would never be available again. However in Season X Epic Games decided to gift this item to everyone who purchased the Fortnite Save The World Founder's Pack.
All players who earned this emote in Season 2 received a new version of the emote called Pony Up in Season X. This new version includes new music and a visible hobbyhorse, while the old version did not.
The Worm
This emote was also part of the Fortnite Battlepass in Season 2. However, The Worm was not available in the free pass and you had to play up to level 28, making it much harder to get than the Ride The Pony emote.
It features your character doing the Worm Dance move. If you got mocked with this emote you lost to a real OG of Fortnite.
Floss
This is probably the most iconic emote in the whole game. After its appearance on tier 49 in the Season 2 Battlepass, there was a remake called „Windmill Floss“ in Season X.
However this one can't compete with the actual Floss emote, which is probably one of the most liked Fortnite emotes and probably the rarest ever.
Fresh
This epic rarity emote was released in December 2017, which makes it OG in the first place. Even though the emote had 30 occurrences in the item shop, the last day we saw it was on November 21, 2018, which is over 1900 days ago!
All of this makes Fresh one of the rarest item shop skins ever. It features your character performing a dance move popularized by the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Kiss the Cup
Last but not least, the Kiss The Cup item was released in 2019 during the second and the third day of the Fortnite World Cup. It features your character kissing and raising a golden trophy, which is unfortunately not the official 2019 World Cup trophy.
While it was available for those two days, it actually never returned to the item shop, even during last year's FNCS Global Championship. This could mean that this emote will never return again, making it especially rare.
Even Fortnite Solo World Cup winner Bugha does not have this emote, as he could not buy it while he was in New York. So far Epic Games has not given it to him yet either.
How to Get Rare Emotes in Fortnite
Getting rare emotes in Fortnite is obviously not that easy, thats why they are rare. But there are still a few ways to increase your chances:
- Keep an Eye on the Item Shop - Rare emotes are sometimes brought back to the item shop for a limited time, so keep checking back to see if your favorite emote has returned.
- Complete Challenges - In the past emotes have been awarded for completing certain challenges. For example the Boobytrapped emote from season 8 or the deep end emote from season 9 are rare emotes as well, which the most people do not even know about.
- Play In-Game Cups - Mostly if there is a cosmetic item as a reward for competing in a cup, this cosmetic will most likely drop in the item shop as well. However emotes such as „Raise the Cup“ have only been in the item shop for two days in addition to being a tournament reward, making this emote rare as well.
Why Rare Emotes Matter
While some players may simply collect rare emotes as a badge of honor, others see them as a status symbol. Having a rare emote can indicate that you've been playing Fortnite for a long time and have been around for some of the game's most memorable events. Rare emotes can also scare your opponents in a fight, while flexing a rare or OG emote mid fight.
In conclusion, rare emotes in Fortnite are highly sought after by players and can be a challenge to obtain. Whether you're collecting them as a badge of honor or using them to intimidate your opponents, rare emotes are a valuable asset in the world of Fortnite. Keep an eye on the item shop, complete challenges, and consider competing in cups with cosmetic prizes to get your hands on these coveted items.
